‘Israel is a cancer that must be eliminated,’ Hezbollah said on the occasion of the first year of the Israeli offensive against Gaza.
On Monday, Hamas forces in Gaza fired a barrage of rockets toward Tel Aviv. This happened on the first anniversary of its assault on southern Israeli communities that triggered the ongoing war.

Five rockets were launched from Khan Younis in southern Gaza, setting off sirens across central Israel. Two people were lightly injured in Kfar Chabad, a town southeast of Tel Aviv, said Eli Bin, director of Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service.
Videos on social media showed damage to a house and cars. A cloud of black smoke was seen rising in an open field near residential buildings in Holon, a suburb south of Tel Aviv.
The Izz el-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, said it fired Maqadma M90 rockets at Tel Aviv “as part of the ongoing battle of attrition and in response to Zionist massacres against civilians and the deliberate displacement of our people.”
On Monday, one day before the first anniversary of the start of the Israeli military offensive against Gaza, the Lebanese Shiite organization Hezbollah recalled Hamas’ military actions in Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, stating that “Israel is a cancer that must be eliminated.”
The Hamas’ action was “a manifestation of the will of Palestine to confront the aggression, injustice and occupation that weighs on its people since 1948,” Hezbollah said, adding that it will have “historical and strategic effects throughout the region until justice is achieved and the Palestinians obtain their legitimate rights in their land.”
Hezbollah noted that despite “the brutality and aggression of the occupation, which has led to the martyrdom of tens of thousands of Palestinians and the unprecedented brutal destruction of the Gaza Strip,” Israel has shown that “it is fragile and incapable of surviving and persisting without the support of the United States.”
The Shiite group also charged against Washington and its allies, which are partners in aggression and crimes against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples. “They bear full responsibility for the devastating massacres, injustices and human tragedies,” Hezbollah stressed.
